Theological Education by Extension in Zambia (TEEZ) plans to roll out its programs under the Timothy Leadership (TLT) to new project sites in 2023. This follows a partnership engagement with a USA-based Christian Organization.
Dubbed Empowering Churches for Missions and Sustainable Development through Timothy Leadership Training program, TEEZ will open up new training groups and classes in Solwezi (Western Province), Kabwe (Central Province), Livingstone (Southern Province) and Mansa (Luapula Province).
This training intervention will allow 400 clergy and laity to qualify as Basic and Advanced Trainers of the TLT/Facilitators and Trainers.
TLT, whose mandate is drawn from 2 Timothy 2:2, is a program under the Timothy Institute of the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA).
In May 2017, TEEZ partnered with TLTI to implement the TLT programs throughout Zambia. This allowed TEEZ to be classified as an official TLTI Global Ministry Partner in Zambia.
TLT is a 7-module training package that takes up to 2 years to be completed. It is a practical theological program that equips Church leaders and members to run effective, healthy, vibrant churches and communities.
Since its inception, the program has recorded massive transformations and stories of change.
The seven modules of the TLT are:
- Caring for God’s People
- Christian Stewardship
- Biblical Preaching
- From Harm to Harmony-Overcoming violence in families and Churches
- Teaching the Christian Faith
- Praising God through Work and Worship
- God’s Plan for Sustainable Development
The training model involves a 3–4-day intensive contact session and the preparation of 3-4 months of action plans in their respective congregations and communities.
Afterwards, the participants/students submit reports of their action plans, and those whose reports qualify then move to the next level or module.
